‘I’ve always loved to escape, whether it was through walks, books, films or dreams, and it’s only now that I realize that’s what I’ve been doing this past decade. I’ve been creating portholes into my other worlds’ Janet Cardiff in The Walk Book
Renowned Canadian artist Janet Cardiff, known for her audio walks and installations works, constructs intricate, intimate and uncanny worlds which play with audience perceptions of time, place and perspective. She joined Chamber Made Artistic Director Tamara Saulwick for a conversation about ideas, practice and creative process.
Works referenced in conversation:
Alter Bahnhof Video Walk; 2012; Janet Cardiff and George Bures Miller
Her Long Black Hair; 2004; Janet Cardiff
